Silhouette Wall Art

Posted By: Kristi

I really love silhouette wall art. I have for a long time now but was not sure how to go about creating it. I finally decided to give it a try and it worked! Not only did I love the outcome but I made more than one, it was fun!

You will need a frame, black paper, background paper (color of your choice), a picture, scissors and tape.

Cut closely around the picture you want to use and tape it on the black paper.

With either an exacto knife or scissors cut around your image. I did not end up using the exacto knife but if your picture is really detailed, you will find it to be helpful. Make sure you concentrate on cutting around each detail, the more details the better your silhouette will turn out.

Once your image is completely cut out remove the original picture. Your silhouette is complete. Now all you have to do is place your image on the background paper and frame it!

I also made one for my sister of my niece. I have not glued it down yet since I am not sure what background color Stephanie will like.

If you know a better way to do this, please share. I would love to hear your ideas!
